This is a great cultural site to visit. The restaurant is fantastic - my wife and I shared the combo plate and it was great. The site includes actors playing the roles of in period people. Kids can even get some free things from them (like a cookie). Would highly suggest this as a family trip!
Some of the actors were fantastic! The lady at Burdie (#6 on the map) was very knowledgeable and friendly. After speaking to her I felt like I really visited her home. This place left me thinking about the hardships faced by the pioneers. I would give 5 stars but I was very disappointed with the food. They should put a bit more effort into serving proper Ukrainian food. I am sure that would attract more people.
This place is awesome! The activities are great my kids were engaged the whole time and the volunteers were excellent. This is an awesome and not too expensive day out! Go and enjoy yourselves in a family friendly environment out in the fresh air!!
What makes them better than fort Edmonton park is a lot of things here in Ukrainian village you actually can get your hands down on some of the amazing historic things. you see them vs. you touch them can give you very difficult feelings. staffs are very nice too. they can talk with you for a very long time (if they are not that busy dealing with other visitors) and they even have real chickens running around just like a real farm.only downside is the food court, I m not talking about the food taste.just the service attitude can be improved.
This place is amazing! Especially for those with Ukrainian heritage, but also great for everybody. Super family friendly and fun! You're guaranteed to learn something new. The historic buildings are out of this world for architecture geeks. There is a little cafe with some Ukrainian food, but there are tons of picnic tables if you would like to bring your own food.
